Japanese Windflower--a  member of the buttercup family native to China and under cultivation  in Japan for hundreds of years--is well suited for borders, cottage gardens and naturalized areas. It brings life to the late summer garden and persists throughout fall. Once established, it can spread rapidly and happily naturalize to form colonies.
