Cosmos features attractive, finely cut foliage that is topped with large, light-pink, white or purple flowers. It begins to bloom in summer and blooms nonstop until first frost, providing a charming display of color while attracting butterflies and bees to the garden.  Direct sow 1/8" deep or broadcast and gently rake into the soil.  Can also be sown indoors 4 weeks before last frost then transplanted to the garden.  Thin plants 9-12" apart.  It frequently self-sows and tolerates drought and poor soil.
