Cosmos sulphureus is an easily grown annual with bright yellow to orange flowers from June-September that attract pollinators and beneficial insects to the garden. Direct sow 1/8" deep or broadcast and gently rake into the soil. Can also be sown indoors 4 weeks before last frost then transplanted to the garden. Thin plants 9-12" apart. It frequently self-sows and tolerates drought and poor soil.
