Sweet basil, typically the most common basil available, can be used both in cooking and as an ornamental. Frequent harvesting delays bloom time which is usually in late summer with an aromatic display of white flowers that attract pollinators. Can be propagated by cuttings or seed which can be direct sown after last frost or started indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Plant 1/4" deep and thin to 6-12". Needs full sun and average moisture.
