Little Bluestem 'The Blues' has stunning blue foliage accented by red stems. The flowers appear in 3"-long racemes on branched stems rising above the foliage. Flowers are followed by clusters of elegant fluffy, silvery-white seed heads that complement the narrow foliage. As fall progresses, an exciting mix of colors appears: purple, orange, and multiple shades of blue. 'The Blues' grows in a mostly upright, clumping form, and prefers poor soil rather than soil that is rich and fertile. This cultivar of prairie grass is sought-after for its wonderful color display and easy-care properties.
