Spiderwort is a dainty, clump-forming herbaceous perennial with long, bright-green narrow leaves. The thick clump of slender, branched stalks is topped by groups of bright pink, three-petaled flowers. Spiderwort flowers close by mid-day and last only one day. Spiderwort is so named because the angular leaf arrangement suggests a squatting spider.
