Jindai Tartarian Aster was discovered at the Jin-Dai Botanical Garden in Tokyo, and is beloved in East Asia for its medicinal properties. Small, abundant flowers sit in flat-topped clusters on erect stems, and are often covered with bees and butterflies. The blooms on this late season favorite still look fresh at the time of first frost.
