Hyacinth Bean has been cultivated for hundreds of years, including by Thomas Jefferson at Monticello. The blooms of reddish-purple are of great ornamental interest, and are succeeded by equally-attractive seed pods. Even the leaves and stems add color to the garden, with tinges of purple. Hyacinth Beans are vigorous and easy to grow.
