Chinese Indigo has delicate spikes of very showy, lilac to rose-pink blooms. Even better, it blooms all summer on new growth. Indigo is quite drought tolerant when established, and is a good choice as a background shrub in a perennial garden. If it's happy, it may exceed 6' in height.
