Balloon Flower is a compact, herbaceous perennial with bell-shaped blue flowers. Unopened buds resemble hot air balloons, thus the common name. They form clumps and will self-sow. To control spread, remove seed pods before they mature.
Start balloon flower seeds indoors 8 weeks before the last frost date or direct sow after last frost. Barely cover the seeds with soil.
