Dill is a self-seeding annual herb originating in the Mediterranean, used for both culinary and medicinal purposes.  The fern-like leaves can be used as a dillweed, or dillseed can be collected in late summer.  Host plant for the black swallowtail butterfly. 

 

Direct sow 1/4 deep in full sun after last frost. Germinates in 10 to 21 days.
