Height up to 6', but usually hovers around 3' in Rockbridge County. Sun loving. The plant is native to the midwest, but is classified as introduced in Virginia. Wear gloves when handling plants, can cause irritation.
 
Soak seeds for 8 hours in warm water or nick the seed coat for faster germination.  Can direct sow after late frost.
