False chamomile is a perennial in the daisy family typically found in roadside ditches or marshes and other wet sites.  It prefers full sun in well drained soil, spreading through creeping rhizomes or by seed.  Plant stems may be pinched or cut back to 1/3 in late spring to early summer to reduce plant height and minimize support needs.  Blooms from late summer until frost with white, pink or lilac petals with yellow centers.

Direct sow seeds after 60 days of cold, moist stratification, or sow seeds outdoors in the fall or winter.  Seeds should be surface-sown with no soil cover.  Cover with a burlap or cotton sheet to keep moist.
